A monthly dinner series in 2025 with Australia’s most iconic wineries.

For one night every month, Milk Beach Soho will partner with an iconic Australian winery to showcase a selection of their wines alongside a bespoke three course sharing menu by Executive Chef Leonard Swan. 

Each evening will be hosted by Wilem Powell (Head Sommelier from 2022 to 2024 at Peter Gilmore’s seminal Sydney restaurant, Quay) alongside a representative ambassador, owner or winemaker from the winery. Spaces are limited with up to 20 seats per event across two large tables, providing an intimate setting for guests to indulge in the very best of Australian wine.

Toast Australia - Shaw + Smith

Wednesday 30th April 2025 - 6:30pm start - Milk Beach Soho

£135 per person

We’re thrilled to be joined by Michael Hill-Smith MW, sixth generation winemaker who broke off from his family’s wine legacy to forge his own. He established Shaw + Smith with cousin Martin Shaw in 1990, at a time when the Adelaide Hills was little known as the fine wine destination it is today. Today, alongside Shaw + Smith, Michael also owns Tolpuddle (Tasmania), MMAD Vineyard (McLaren Vale) and The Other Wine Co.

The evening will feature a curated selection of wines from these celebrated wineries, paired with a three course meal from Milk Beach Executive Chef Leonard Swan.

Toast Australia - Penfolds

Wednesday 21st May 2025 - 6:30pm start - Milk Beach Soho

£150 per person

This event will feature Penfolds, an iconic Australian winery with a rich heritage dating back to 1844. We’ll be joined by Toby Amphlett, Penfolds’ Ambassador for the UK and beyond. With over a decade of experience in the drinks industry, Toby spends his time judging at significant wine shows, whilst dedicating his time to telling the Penfolds story and sharing their wines with the world.

The evening will feature a curated selection of wines from Penfolds, paired with a three course meal from Milk Beach Executive Chef Leonard Swan.

Toast Australia - Brokenwood Hunter Valley

Tuesday 17th June 2025 - 6:30pm start - Milk Beach Soho

£135 per person

Our next Toast Australia event will spotlight the iconic wines of Brokenwood, one of Australia’s most celebrated wineries. We’ll be joined by Patrick Diggins, originally from Sydney, Australia, but now lives in London. He spent his formative years in the wine trade managing serious fine wine operations such as Prince Wine Store and Dan Murphy’s, whilst also undertaking vintages for Tyrrells in the Hunter Valley and Stargazer in Tasmania’s Coal River Valley. He moved to the UK to work at Bancroft in 2024 and manages their Australian and New Zealand Portfolio, significantly importing the treasured wines of Brokenwood into the UK.

The evening will feature a specially selected collection of Brokenwood’s award-winning wines, paired with a three course meal from Milk Beach Executive Chef Leonard Swan.

Toast Australia - Handpicked Wines

An evening with Handpicked Wines, a renowned Australian winery that crafts premium wines from iconic regions like Mornington Peninsula, Yarra Valley, and Barossa Valley.

Joining us to host will be Toby Spiers, who has decades of experience flying the Australian flag throughout Europe, proudly working with some of Australia’s leading brands such as House of Arras (Tasmania) alongside the incredibly exciting Handpicked Wines, which he’ll be talking through in detail on the night, showcasing the diversity of Australia’s cool climate winemaking.
